ABOUT THE VIDEO: To demonstrate the effectiveness of the Cool Vest®
dogs were filmed using FLIR SYSTEMS ThermaCAM(R) EX300, one of the
most accurate temperature measurement cameras on the market. The EX300
uses vanadium oxide (the world's best infrared detector material) to detect
temperature differences as small as 0.08°C, and provides 76,8000 picture
elements in each image.
This video was shot on July 20, 2006 at Congress Park, Saratoga, New York.
According to www.weather.com, the stats for that day were as follows: Air
temperature, 85°F; Humidity, 44%. In the footage Ms. Terri Kieffer, a
professional dog trainer/show dog owner, and her two Whippets, 3-year-old
Chichi (wearing a Cool Vest® ) 1-year-old Midget (without a Cool Vest® ) take
a 30-minute walk. You can see Chichi barely pants, while much younger
Midget pants heavily and must lie down in the grass to cool off. After removing
Chichi's Cool Vest® , her body surface temperature remained at about 90°F.
