iDog (Zephyr Co., Ishikawa, Japan) has been manufacturing top quality dog clothes in Japan for 20 years. It had established
its brand name and the position as the first class dog apparel company in Japan. Gramercy Distribution, Inc. introduced iDog
brand clothes to USA in early 2007 to share this wonderful clothing line with our REAL PETS. iDog brand name is a registered
trademark in Japan and we registered in the United States as well.
Though the trademark “iDog” was granted once from the US Patent and Trademark Office in Nov. 2007, in spring of 2008, it
was disputed by a giant toy company, Hasbro, Inc. claming that iDog name violates their mp3 toy dog's name.
Normally, when the purpose of a product or a service is different from another product or service, USPTO doesn't recognize
any conflict as they belong to different classes. Dog clothes by iDog and Hasbro, Inc.'s toy are made for two completely
different purposes: one is for live animal use and the other is a toy for humans. But, as you can guess, once it is legally
disputed, it can cost a fortune to defend yourself against a giant corporation such as Hasbro.
In short, it was not financially feasible for Zephyr Co. to continue using the name iDog in the US and we decided to give up the
iDog brand name here, USA. Though Gramercy Distribution, Inc. no longer use the brand name iDog, we will carry the same
high quality unique clothes for your REAL dogs. We guarantee you that our dog clothes are and will NEVER be tainted by lead.
All clothing is hand made in iDog's facility in Ishikawa, Japan, not in sweatshops in China or elsewhere. Everybody who works
at iDog takes pride in making your dog's clothes.
The iDog brand name is no longer with us, however, please feel confident that the quality will continue to be at its highest at
Gramercy Distribution.
